US pay-TV network FX is to end horror comedy What We Do In The Shadows with its upcoming sixth season.

The series, created by Jemaine Clement, launched in 2019 and is based on his and Taika Waititi’s 2014 mockumentary of the same name, with which it shares continuity.

The show follows four vampire roommates living in modern day Staten Island, New York, along with their familiar, as they struggle with the realities of everyday modern human life.

Kayvan Novak, Matt Berry, Natasia Demetriou, Mark Proksch, Harvey Guillén and Kristen Schaal star in the series, which wrapped up its fifth season in August, with the sixth, and now final, season commissioned late last year.

The series is produced by FX Productions, with Paul Simms serving as showrunner and executive producer alongside Clement, Waititi, Stefani Robinson, Sam Johnson, Garrett Basch and Eli Bush.

Vulture was the first to report on the show being brought to an end.
