Apple TV+ orders Jon Hamm crime drama ‘Your Friends And Neighbours’
Apple TV+ has handed Jon Hamm his first lead role since Mad Men with an order for Jonathan Tropper’s drama Your Friends And Neighbours.
The drama has been developed by Apple Studios and will be exec produced by Hamm, who recently appeared on Apple TV+ series The Morning Show and Prime Video’s Fargo.
The show is based on an idea by screenwriter, producer and novelist Tropper (See), who has an overall deal with the tech giant via his banner Tropper Ink.
The story tracks a recently divorced hedge fund manager who, after being fired, resorts to stealing from the wealthy residents in his tiny upstate New York suburb in order to keep his family’s lifestyle afloat. These petty crimes begin to reinvigorate him until he breaks into the wrong house at the wrong time.
Tropper is showrunner and also exec produces, alongside Connie Tavel (Confess, Fletch).
He has previously been behind Apple TV+ series See and wrote films including The Adam Project and novels.
