Woodcut Media ups Matthew Gordon to become head of contemporary factual

Woodcut Media has rejigged its team by promoting senior executive producer Matthew Gordon to become head of contemporary factual.

Gordon is tasked with developing and expanding the company’s factual output, and will continue to report to Kate Beal, Woodcut’s founder & CEO.

He joined Woodcut in 2018 and executive produced shows such as Content Innovation Awards winner Murder In The Red Light, as well as Becoming Ian Brady for Prime Video and World’s Most Dangerous Prisoners for Channel 5.

Prior to Woodcut, he worked across factual, features and documentary programming, with credits on Four In A Bed for Channel 4 and Can’t Pay We’ll Take It Away for Channel 5.

In reated news, Woodcut has hired Jason Tomkins as post-production manager, responsible for growing the company’s in-house facility.

Beal said: “Matthew has been instrumental in creating our true crime slate and consolidating our reputation within the genre. This promotion recognises his contribution to Woodcut’s growth and is richly deserved. We are also delighted to welcome Jason to our team.”
