UK’s 1185 Films hires former ITV exec Stephen Arnell for development & production
UK-based producer 1185 Films has hired Stephen Arnell, former launch director of ITV3 and ITV4, to work across its development and production.
Arnell is joining as a project-based consulting co-director and will work across output at 1185 Films, which is run by executive producer Nick Franco.
He will work with Franco and head of entertainment, Chris Cowey, with a focus on features, TV drama, entertainment and comedy projects. The company’s first feature, All You Need is Death, was recently picked up by distributor XYZ.
Arnell, who has written numerous for TBI, began his 30-year career in TV at the BBC, befoe holding roles at ITV, Paramount International, Discovery, Cinemoi, Trace TV and A+E Networks.
Arnell said: “This is an extremely interesting time to join 1185 Films with its growing slate of entertainment, drama and comedy.
“I’ve known Nick for years and have always been thoroughly impressed by his drive and ability. This is an ideal time to help the 1185 Films team develop a fascinating slate of programming projects, all with huge potential to cut through for broadcasters and streamers.”
