‘Lust’ producer Miso Film appoints Rachel Bodros Wolgers as MD, with Max Hallén to exit

Fremantle-backed Nordic prodco Miso Film has appointed Rachel Bodros Wolgers as managing director of its Swedish branch, following the departure of Max Hallén.

Bodros Wolgers, who has produced titles including Tack För Senast, Cell 8 and the feature Jag Kommer Hem Igen Till Jul will step into the role on 1 January 2024 and will work a closely alongside the incumbent MD Hallén until the end of the year to ensure a smooth transition.

”Now is the time for Rachel to continue evolving the company and me to continue my journey elsewhere,” said Hallén on his departure,

Miso Film Sweden is behind titles including HBO Max original Lust and Viaplay originals R.S.V.P., Cell 8 and Box 21 based on Roslund & Hellströms novels. Its credits also include crime series Modus I & II based on Anne Holt’s novels, in co-operation with TV4 and ZDF.

The company is currently shooting the TV series Faithless in co-operation with SVT and ARTE, directed by Tomas Alfredson, and written by Sara Johnsen, starring Gustav Lindh, Frida Gustavsson and August Wittgenstein. The series is inspired and based on Ingmar Bergman’s essay Trolösa on which Liv Ullmann’s feature film with the same title from 2000 also was based.

“I’m very pleased that Rachel accepted our offer to take over the position as MD in Sweden. Rachel has been a part of the Miso team for more than five years and as a skilled producer of several successful shows and with a background from distribution, I’m sure she will continue the success and growth of Miso Film Sweden,” said Peter Bose, CEO of the Miso Group.

He added: “I will also use the opportunity to say thank you to Max for his time as MD. Max has led the company through difficult times with a safe hand and I wish him the best of luck with his new journey.”
