Apple TV+ lands 72 Films’ John Lennon docuseries exploring star’s life & murder

Apple TV+ has picked up a three-part documentary series exploring the life and murder of John Lennon from Fremantle-owned 72 Films.

John Lennon: Murder Without A Trial features exclusive eyewitness interviews and previously unseen crime scene photos, claiming to shed new light on the life and murder of the music and cultural icon.

The docuseries, which is being narrated by Kiefer Sutherland, also delves into the investigation and conviction of Mark David Chapman, his confessed killer.

Nick Holt (Responsible Child) directs and Rob Coldstream (Jade: The Reality Star Who Changed Britain) is among exex porducers, alongside David Glover (9/11: One Day in America), Mark Raphael (Crime and Punishment).

The factual offering at Apple TV+ has been ticking up over the past year, with recent commissions including a two-parter about former tennis star Boris Becker and the recently released Pigeon Tunnel, which explores author John Le Carre’s life.
