Miami-based BTF Media, the prodco behind Canal 9 and Amazon Prime Video’s series Maradona: Sueño Bendito, has restructured its team and named a former TV Azteca exec as its distribution chief.
Yoselin Pérez Valdez, who left the Mexican broadcaster’s sales division in May, has been named SVP of sales, while Marco Forte, who had led the operations of the Mexican production office, has been promoted to SVP of new ventures.
Verónica Álvarez and Sergio Lazarov remain VP’s of unscripted Content, with Alvarez overseeing Mexico and Lazarov leading on US project, and Ivonne Vela has taken on the SVP of business affairs position.
Two additional roles – SVP of development and SVP of production – are being recruited for the company, which was founded and remains led by Francisco Cordero, who leads business affairs, and Ricardo Coeto who oversees creative.
Cordero said the new structure “will allow us to be more competitive within the industry, not only from a corporate and organisational approach, but also from creative and business, in order to leverage our positioning.”
BTF Media was founded in 2010 and operates across the US and Mexico, as well as in Argentina, Chile and Spain. Its output includes Disney+ comedy Papas Por Encargo and films such as Soy Tu Fan.
