Dawn Airey, Nigel Hall & Russ Lindsay launch prodco Moon&Back, with Asylum backing
Veteran UK executives Dawn Airey, Nigel Hall and Russ Lindsay have launched Moon&Back Media, a new, London-based unscripted production company, with backing from Endeavor-owned Asylum Entertainment Group.
Airey was the first director of programmes for Channel 5 and has also held roles as the control of arts & ents at Channel 4; MD of Sky channels, and at ITV, where she served as director of global content.
Hall was global head of TV for Simon Cowell’s Syco Entertainment, where he co-created and served as exec producer on The X Factor and Got Talent franchises. He was previously the head of light entertainment at ITV, where he created Celebrity Stars In Their Eyes, You’ve Been Framed and Saturday Night Takeaway.
Lindsay, meanwhile, is the co-founder of UK talent agencies James Grant, where he managed celebrities including Cowell and Ant & Dec, while he also co-founded Talent Bank and led production company Infinity Creative Media.
Asylum was acquired by Endeavor in March and said the deal would allow it to ”supercharge its footprint” through domestic and international M&A, with Moon&Back marking its first investment in an international production company.
“This past year, we’ve been focused on aligning with inspired storytellers, including producers, artists and brands, to carve new opportunities that will entertain and inform our audiences,” said Asylum CEO Steve Michaels. “Nigel, Dawn and Russ offer a wealth of diverse experience; they’re incredibly esteemed visionaries who are committed to excellence in their craft.”
Airey added: “We share the same values, business acumen and ambition as the team at Asylum, and we’re confident that our combined imaginations will empower us to create the very best unscripted content to entertain, surprise and delight audiences around the world.”
