C4 embarks on ‘Irish Journey’

UK broadcaster Channel 4 has picked up Julia Bradbury’s Irish Journey, a new 4 x 60-minute travel series from Cornelia Street Productions, the factual producer behind Enslaved.

The show follows the titular presenter as she returns to the land of her birth to explore the landscape, culture, history and people of the country. From cliff tops to forests and from great cities to beautiful beaches, Julia walks, surfs, kayaks and cooks her way around Ireland.

ITV Studios will distribute the series internationally.

Milkshake! greets ‘The Woohoos!’

Milkshake!, the preschool strand on UK comcaster Channel 5, has commissioned The Woohoos!, a new 2D animated series from London-based Snipple Originals.

The show, which will hit UK screens in 2025, has been picked up for international sales outside of the UK by Jetpack Distribution.

The Woohoos! is a 52 x 7-minute preschool comedy, showcasing nature that children recognise, and celebrating the joy of discovering the outside world. Each episode brings an exciting ‘Ooo” moment, a new discovery that needs explaining, and then when the characters find the answer they say “Woohoo.”

The series is directed by Kitty Taylor, executive produced by Snipple Originals director, Karina Stanford-Smith and produced in Snipple’s Animation studio. Stanford Smith said: “Through this series, we realise the magic of – first and foremost – making preschoolers giggle.”

Amuz to shop ‘Larry’

Canada’s Amuz Distribution has acquired Avenue Productions’ dramedy Larry for international sales.

The series follows a former undercover police officer, Larry, whose reputation was tarnished from a corruption case, and who is now a security guard at the ripe age of 62 and working in a culturally mixed Montreal neighborhood.

He is left to navigate a new life with his disabled wife who recently became injured when caught between a gang shootout. Larry, along with his quirky neighbors, tries to uncover the identities of those who were responsible for his wife while trying to make the best of his situation and redeem his reputation.
