BBC hires Dragonfly’s Tom Pullen as commissioning editor
Dragonfly’s head of documentaries, Tom Pullen, has left the Banijay-owned firm to become a commissioning editor at the BBC.
Pullen will start working with Clare Sillery’s docs team from 6 November, having spent six years at Dragonfly where he worked on shows including factual drama Then Barbara Met Alan for the BBC and Netflix.
Other credits include Life And Birth for BBC One and What Makes A Murderer for Channel 4.
Before Dragonfly, Pullen had worked as a development exec for Raw and was head of factual development at Eleven.
Sillery said: “[Pullen] has proven himself to be a skilled and creative programme developer and maker with an impressive track record. I’m really looking forward to working with him and I’m sure he’ll make a valuable contribution to the ongoing success of the department.”
