Love Nature unveils factual trio
Blue Ant Media’s Love Nature has unveiled a new slate of programming, with shows also set to debut on Sky Nature in the UK and Italy, and Arte in France and Germany.
Survival Of The Beast (w/t) is from Singapore-based Beach House Pictures and follows explorer Max Djenohan as he learns valuable lessons from large species like lions, gorillas and crocodiles as well as smaller creatures like ants, owls and mudskippers.
Bugs That Rule The World (w/t), from Coneflowr Studios, has been coproduced with Arte and PBS. It takes viewers to remote jungles, deserts and savannas with a crew of scientists as they delve into the secret life of insects.
Wild Bear Entertainment has also been handed a third season order for Wildlife ER, which will roll out on Love Nature around the world.
Talpa rebrands to Talpa Studios
Million Dollar Island firm Talpa has rebranded to become Talpa Studios, in a bid to differentiate the firm from owner John de Mol’s Talpa Networks and to reflect “a holistic shift” in its business approach.
Talpa Studios will now focus on creating “complete content propositions, from format creation to production and global distribution,” the Dutch group said. Its formats include The Floor, Marble Mania and Hunting Season.
The rebranded division retains exclusive access rights to premium broadcast and streaming channels in the Netherlands and Germany, via Talpa Networks.
Maarten Meijs, CEO Talpa Studios, said: “This name change captures the full spectrum of all our activities under our roof. The expansion signifies the innovative strategy we’ve embarked upon since our exciting new journey began in 2022.”
Nat Geo preps Predators In Action
National Geographic International is working with Bristol-based True To Nature on six-part Predators In Action, in association with ITV Studios.
The series will follow the fortunes of some of the world’s most formidable apex predators, including leopards, grey wolves and crocodiles, focusing on their high-stake hunts and the multitude of factors that contribute to their success or failure.
The series has been commissioned by Sarah Peat for National Geographic International, with ITVS handling international distribution.
