Paramount+ brings Oz comedy hit ‘Colin From Accounts’ to US
Paramount+ is launching hit Australian comedy series Colin From Accounts in the US.
The series, from Easy Tiger Productions and Paramount sibling CBS Studios, was among the most talked-about shows in LA last year and will land on the streamer on 9 November, with two episodes airing weekly.
Created, written by and starring Patrick Brammall (Offspring, Glitch) and Harriet Dyer (The Invisible Man, No Activity), the eight-part first season centers on Ashley and Gordon; two single(ish), complex humans who are brought together by a car accident and an injured dog.
Originating commissioner Foxtel ordered a second season last month, with UK pubcaster the BBC acquiring the sophomore run just a week later.
The show, which is distributed outside of Australia and New Zealand by Paramount Global Content Distribution, has already sold to CityTV in Canada, Cosmote in Greece, Yes in Israel, SVT in Sweden, NRK in Norway, DRTV/DR1 in Denmark, YLE Areena/YLE TV2 in Finland, MNET 101 in Pan Africa, Universal+ in Latin America and RTE 2 in Ireland.
Jeff Grossman, EVP of content & business operations for Paramount Streaming, said the show offered an “irresistible blend of lovable characters, endearing storylines and the perfect balance of modern-day romance and comedy.”
