Asylum Entertainment re-hires Ben Bitonti & lands ITV America alum Eric Hobermanto
Endeavor’s Asylum Entertainment Group has re-hired Ben Bitonti to become its chief creative office and landed former ITV America exec Eric Hobermanto lead development.
Bitonti will lead creative development and production at Asylum and rejoins the company having previously been its VP of development, working on Cyrus vs. Cyrus: Design And Conquer for Bravo and Origins: The Journey of Humankind for National Geographic.
He was most recently chief creative officer at Basil Iwayk’s sports content studio Game1 Entertainment, where he sourced IP and talent partnerships and established the unscripted department.
Bitonti was also head of nonfiction content and alternative at 101 Studios, where he executive produced Taylor Sheridan’s special 1883: The Road West for Paramount+.
Hoberman, meanwhile, becomes EVP of programming & development and, like Bitonti, will report to president Jodi Flynn.
He was previously head of development at Religion of Sports, founded by American football stars Tom Brady and Michael Strahan and sports documentarian Gotham Chopra.
Before that, Hoberman was SVP of development at ITV America and has also worked for Entertainment One.
Asylum was acquired by Endeavor in March and said the deal would allow it to”supercharge its footprint” through domestic and international M&A. The group’s slate of reality, documentary and other unscripted series includes 30 for 30, Hillsong: A Megachurch Exposed, American Cartel, King of the Con, Sins of the Amish and How I Caught My Killer.
It currently houses production companies The Content Group, Texas Crew Productions, Big City TV, Breaklight Pictures, and Audity.
