Warner Bros. Discovery extends HBO Go reach in Malaysia & expands channels with Unifi
Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) is expanding its channels operation in Asia, while also extending the reach of its HBO Go streamer.
The US studio has struck a deal that will see HBO, HBO Family, HBO Hits and Cinemax launch on Unifi TV in Malaysia, providing access to shows such as the second season of Winning Time: The Rise Of The Lakers Dynasty and HBO Asia original, MarkKim + Chef.
Hit HBO series including Game Of Thrones spin-off House Of The Dragon will also be available.
The agreement will also see regional streamer HBO Go launching on Unifi from October, while HGTV and Cartoon Network will be available as channels from August.
WBD, which is preparing to roll out Max outside of the US in the coming months, has been expanding its channel operations in some parts of the world and striking output deals elsewhere, including pacts with Foxtel in Australia.
It struck a deal with Thai operator AIS (Advanced Info Service) earlier this month to launch HBO Go in the country and bring a new HBO channel pack to its streaming service AIS Play.
