LA-based Big City TV, the Asylum Entertainment Group label behind TLC’s Doubling Down With The Derricos, has appointed Eric Leemon as SVP of development.

Leemon will report directly to president and CEO Lori Rothschild Ansaldi, with whom he co-developed The Program: Prison Detox for TLC and supervised the criminal-justice reform podcast Kim Kardashian’s The System: The Case of Kevin Keith for Spotify.

The veteran exec began at Sony Pictures Television where he oversaw production of Ripley’s Believe It Or Not for TBS and R.J. Cutler’s The Residents for Discovery Health Channel and TLC.

At Original Productions, Leemon produced Discovery’s Deadliest Catch, launched social experiment The Colony and served as supervising producer across Ax Men for HISTORY and Wild Justice for National Geographic.

He also co-executive produced and showran American Daredevils for HISTORY and the returnable Hardcore Pawn for Tru TV.

“Having had the extraordinary opportunity working with Eric for years, I can speak firsthand to his impeccable reputation and keen instincts in this business,” said Rothschild Ansaldi. “His diverse experience is a huge asset as we continue to build out our Big City TV team and slate.”
