NBCUniversal (NBCU) Global Distribution is placing more of its content on FAST channels, following a deal with Roku.

A new deal sees single IP channels such as Murder, She Wrote and Little House On The Prairie being rolled out on Roku, along with multi-IP offerings such as Universal Crime, which carries library series including Columbo and Kojak.

Other channels being launched include Saved By The Bell, Bad Girls Club and TNBC (Teen NBC), the latter offering Punky Brewster among others.

Universal Action is also slated to launch later this year, offering The A-Team, Magnum P.I. and Knight Rider.

NBCU and Roku already offer FAST channels including NBC News Now, Dateline 24/7, Today All Day, LX, NBC local channels, Telemundo regional news channels, Sky News International, and The Rotten Tomatoes Channel.

Jennifer Vaux, VP of content acquisition & programming for The Roku Channel, said: “As FAST continues to gain incredible popularity in the marketplace, we’re excited to bring such terrific content options – including a strong roster of very well-known, fan-favorite programming – to our viewers.”

Bruce Casino, EVP of sales & distribution in the US for NBCU Global Distribution, added that the deal was part of its strategy to “dive into the dramatically growing FAST sector by partnering with [Roku] to bring our beloved TV shows to their viewers.”
