News round-up: NTV Germany expands ‘Decoded’; Scout developing Chrisley return
NTV Germany expands ‘Decoded’
NTV Germany has commissioned a second season of Destruction Decoded, along with a spin-off series titled Danger Decoded.
The franchise, from US producer-distributor Big Media, is co-produced with RMC Production and Wild Bear Australia.
The second 8 x 60-minute season of Destruction Decoded, follows the show’s debut on NTV Germany and RMC France in Q1 2023. The show has since been sold to over 20 territories around the world, including the United States, the UK, India, and Korea.
The new season decodes the chain of events and circumstances that led to the world’s worst maritime disasters, buildings that have collapsed all over the world, and how a fun day at an amusement park can end in disaster.
Danger Decoded (12 x 60-minutes) will meanwhile uncover the most dangerous places and people in the world. From roads, borders, and cities to prisons, criminals, and gangs, this new series will delve into what makes these locations so treacherous and dares to peer into the ruthless nature of the criminal underworld.
“Destruction Decoded is a prime example of how well the international co-production model can succeed and thrive,” said Big Media co-founder and global head of production Martin Kaše.
Scout developing Chrisley return
Scout Productions is working on a new unscripted docuseries that will follow the Chrisley family’s return to television.
As one of the most recognizable reality show families, the as yet untitled series documents this next chapter for Chase Chrisley, Savannah Chrisley, Grayson Chrisley, Chloe Chrisley, and “Nanny” Faye Chrisley.
In the wake of the family’s legal troubles after Todd and Julie Chrisley’s prison sentences, this next iteration for the family marks the continuation of their story after their TV run on reality show, Chrisley Knows Best.
David Collins, Rob Eric, Renata Lombardo and Michael Williams will executive produce the series which is currently in development.
