BBC picks up ‘Colin From Accounts’ S2 after recent renewal
UK pubcaster the BBC has acquired the recently announced second season of Australian comedy Colin From Accounts for BBC Two and VOD service BBC iPlayer.
Originating commissioner Foxtel ordered the sophomore run last week, with well-travelled comedy first unveiled at LA Screenings last year.
The series is produced by Easy Tiger Productions and CBS Studios and was among the most talked-about shows in LA last year, with the BBC among firms to acquire rights from Paramount Global Content Distribution, and broadcast season one in April.
Created, written by and starring Patrick Brammall (Offspring, Glitch) and Harriet Dyer (The Invisible Man, No Activity), the eight-part first season centered on Ashley and Gordon; two single(ish), complex humans who are brought together by a car accident and an injured dog.
BBC head of programme acquisition, Sue Deeks, said: “BBC viewers have been completely charmed by this award-winning romantic comedy, and have taken Ashley, Gordon and unlikely cupid Colin to their hearts.
“We are so delighted that there is going to be another series of the totally engaging Colin From Accounts for us all to enjoy.”
