Parade Media & India’s Reliance Jio link to roll out FAST channel Biopic
UK and Singapore-based content distributor and FAST channel provider Parade Media Group’s tech incubator subsidiary, Parade Labs, has teamed up with Indian telecom giant Reliance Jio to launch FAST channel Biopic in India.
Parade’s first dedicated FAST offering via an app is available in India from the JioStore Application Store as part of what the company, which specialises in lifestyle and factual programming, describes as a strategic partnership across multiple devices such as the Jio set-top box, JioPhone, JioBook and JioPC.
Jio is the largest mobile network operator in India, with around 426 million subscribers.
The Biopic app will roll out across third-party Android platforms globally from August.
Biopic is a linear and on-demand channel that tracks the lives of leading figures from the worlds of Hollywood, sport, music, and British Royalty.
Forming part of Parade’s broader direct-to-consumer roadmap, Parade Labs focusses on deploying content via OTT to connected TV, PC and mobile. The outfit taps its own intellectual property but also collaborates with distributors and producers across the tech and media sector.
