WBD promotes Christian Hug to lead int’l diversity, equity & inclusion
Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) has promoted Christian Hug to lead on international diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) programs, policies and activities, with immediate effect.
In this newly created position, as GVP DEI international, Hug reports directly to Asif Sadiq, chief DEI Officer, who commented that Hug’s “many years of experience in intercultural project management make him predestined to take over the management of our increasingly extensive DEI planning and projects in the international arena.”
Based in Munich, Germany, Hug will lead an international team, with the aim of advancing and strengthen WBD’s commitment to all areas of DEI.
The appointment follows last month’s reorganisation that led to the exit of US diversity, equity and inclusion lead, Karen Horne. WBD aims to increase the focus on local employee-related initiatives with an expanded team.
Hug has worked for WBD since 2005. After management roles in HR, he worked as VP of lifeworks & inclusion from 2010. Since 2022, as VP DEI workforce & strategy, he has developed programs for DEI training for top executives and systemic data collection under DEI aspects at a global level.
