London-based distributor All3Media International has appointed BBC Studios’ Tony Ziran Tang as VP of sales for Asia Pacific.

Reporting to Sabrina Duguet, EVP of Asia Pacific, Tang will be responsible for co-productions and finished programme and format sales in China, Korea, Japan, across TV, local digital platforms and home entertainment.

Tang arrives at All3media International from BBC Studios, which he first joined as a format sales executive, before progressing to senior commercial officer and senior producer for China, where he oversaw originals, co-productions and distribution.

He brokered the first Chinese original, One Cup A Thousand Stories, the first science original Rendezvous With The Future and several international co-productions including The Green Planet.

Prior to BBC Studios, Tang was a development producer at non-scripted production company Sparkling Media in China.

This latest hire follows All3Media International’s recent expansion of its Asia-Pacific team, which saw Jaenani Netra from Hi-5 Operations to become VP of sales for India and the Indian subcontinent.

All3Media International’s catalogue includes scripted series such as Fleabag, It’s A Sin, Trigger Point and Midsomer Murders, as well as unscripted titles like Who Is Ghislaine Maxwell? and Fever Pitch: The Rise Of The Premier League and factual entertainment shows such as Escape To The Chateau, Great British Menu and Four In A Bed. Its formats offering includes The Traitors, Gogglebox and Undercover Boss.

“We’re delighted to welcome Tony Ziran Tang to the team as we expand the reach of our finished shows and formats in these key territories,” said Duguet.

“Tony’s comprehensive experience in digital and linear distribution, format development, and co-production, alongside his established relationships with clients across Asia and globally, will ensure we can continue to optimise opportunities within our current client network as well as secure and grow new business.”
