Zee Plus chief business officer Sunita Uchil steps down
Sunita Uchil, chief business officer and head of international co-productions at Zee Plus in India, is exiting the company after 15 years.
Zee Plus is the co-production and development arm of India’s Zee Entertainment, and is behind projects such as wildlife docuseries The Lion’s Last Roar, made in partnership with UK factual prodco Talesmith, which will be Uchil’s last project with the company.
During her tenure, she has also served as executive producer on Life Of Earth: From Space, alongside the Smithsonian channel; co-produced Deceptive Measures, the African remake of an Indian drama; and oversaw the ZEE and TelevisaUnivision co-production of culinary traveleogue series The Spice Trails.
Uchil is a well-known figure in the global television industry, serving as a FRAPA board member and as a judge on awards shows such as the International Emmys, the Rose d’Or, World Trailer Awards and TBI’s own Content Innovation Awards.
“After an illustrious career spanning 15 years, Sunita Uchil has decided to step down from her position as the chief business officer of Zee Plus, to pursue her interests outside the organization.
“Sunita has successfully helmed the international ad sales, syndication and co-production units for the company’s international business over the years, strengthening ZEE’s connect with the Indian diaspora across the globe,” said a Zee spokesperson.
