Prime Video adds ‘No Activity’ remake in Italian originals slate

Amazon-owned SVOD Prime Video has unveiled a slate of Italian originals across scripted, unscripted and films.

Three new scripted titles are joining the service, including Antonia, a comedy-drama from Groenlandia and Fidelio, which follows the titular character, an actress who begins to deal with her combative nature. Chiara Martegiani stars, while Chiara Malta directs.

Banijay-owned Groenlandia is also producing Niente da Segnalare, based on Australian scripted format No Activity, for Prime Video. The six-part series follows two criminals (played by Rocco Papaleo & Fabio Balsamo), two police officers (Luca Zingaretti & Alessandro Tiberi) on a stakeout and two dispatch operators (Carla Signoris & Emanuela Fanelli), all with a long night ahead.

Gigolò Per Caso, meanwhile, is a six-part comedy about a man who learns that his father is a gigolo and decides to go into the business himself. Amazon Studios is co-producing with Lucky Red. Eros Puglielli is attached to direct, while Daniela Delle Foglie and Tommaso Renzoni wrote the series.

Sul Più Bello – La Serie is a romantic comedy hailing from Eagle Pictures and is a spin off from 2020 Italian film Sul Più Bello. It’s written by Roberto Proia and Francesca Marino, who also directs.

Also returning to Prime Video for second seasons are Sono Lillo from Lucky Red; Monterossi from Palomar; and Me Contro Te: La Famiglia Reale, from Colorado Film Production, Warner Bros. Entertainment Italia and Me Contro Te.

Unscripted & films

On the unscripted side is Talenti Senza Vergogna, an Italian adaptation of UK format Celebrity Karaoke Night. The series is produced by Stand By Me, with the original version hailing from Monkey Kingdom and distributed by NBCUniversal Formats.

Fremantle Italy is meanwhile producing Amazing – Fabio de Luigi, which follows the titular actor and comedian as he reluctantly takes to the stage.

Returning unscripted titles include comedy show Prova Prova Sa Sa from Endemol Shine Italy, which is a local adaptation of UK format Whose Line Is It Anyway?

New Italian original movies include Elf Me, from Lucky Red, Goon Films, and Amazon Studios; Pensati Sexy, from Fabula Pictures; Il Migliore dei Mondi from Lotus Production; Addio al Nubilato 2 from Minerva Pictures and Staragara Productions; Gli Addestratori from Lucky Red and Falla Girare 2 – Offline from Italian International Film and Vision Distribution.

In related news, Prime Video in India has partnered with the government’s of the Principal Scientific Adviser to create Mission Start Ab, a factual series that will showcase India’s grassroots innovators as they turbo-charge their business growth.

The seven-episode series will show these promising entrepreneurs, focused on scaling made-for-India innovations with the potential to impact socio-economic change, undertake a series of challenges in pursuit of scaling their business and securing funding for their ventures.
