Neshama hires Incendo’s Brook Peters for new sales arm, takes on Fox shows in Canada
Canada’s Neshama Entertainment has hired Incendo Productions exec Brook Peters to head up a new distribution division that will take on sales of Fox content in Canada.
Neshama Releasing will oversee the Canadian sales of Neshama-produced content, as well as Fox Entertainment-produced content and third-party programming.
Peters, whose role at Incendo had seen him lead distribution of Fox Alternative Entertainment and Fox Entertainment Studios shows within Canada, becomes SVP of sales & business development at Neshama Releasing.
He will work with Fox Entertainment Global, the nascent US-based distribution firm launched by the broadcaster last year. It is led by Fernando Szew, who took up the role after Fox acquired Marvista Entertainment. The latter holds a minority stake in Neshama.
Neshama is also behind one-hour drama The Way Home, which marked Marvista’s first Canadian drama for seven years, as well as TV movie Dress For Success, which is being produced for Fox-owned streamer Tubi.
Peters joins following almost nine years at Incendo Productions where he was most recently MD & SVP of sales & production operations, managing all of the company’s domestic sales and acquisition business within Canada.
He has also been responsible for Incendo’s domestic, international and co-production slate, and before that worked atr Bell Media and Teletoon.
Arnie Zipursky, co-founder & exec producer at Neshama Entertainment, described the establishment of a distribution operation as “a natural evolution of our business” folowing the recent roll-out of its in-house production division Neshama Studios.
Peters added: “I cannot wait to ‘dig in’ with my colleagues in fostering new relationships, building on existing ones, and thinking creatively about the future of our industry.”
