Atomic Cartoons co-founder Trevor Bentley launches new studio with Toon City
Trevor Bentley, the veteran animation executive who co-founded Canada’s Atomic Cartoons, is launching a new production studio, Toon City Vancouver.
Launching in partnership with Manila’s Toon City, the new Vancouver-based firm will specialise in providing both traditional and digital animation services, while actively seeking co-production opportunities.
Bentley, who co-founded Atomic Cartoons 24 years ago, has previously worked with Toon City on shows such as Disney XD series Counterfeit Cat, Wildseed series Incredible Ant and PBS series Molly Of Denali.
Bentley, who describes the new venture as a “new chapter” in his career, will be attending Cartoon Forum in September with plans to connect with producers and creatives looking for a Canadian production partner.
“Over the years I’ve had nothing but admiration for the talented team at Toon City. The opportunity to build a pipeline that encompasses the deep talent pools in Vancouver and Manila and the immediate benefits for our clients made the decision automatic” said Bentley.
“I have seen how Trevor developed and nurtured his former studio, Atomic Cartoons. We have worked with him as service providers, and I only have admiration for his professionalism. Trevor is highly regarded in global animation, and I cannot be prouder in having him as our partner. This is a dream come-true as it opens huge possibilities for Toon City” added Miguel del Rosario, CEO of Toon City.
