Flicker Productions & BossaNova Media partner for ‘The Flight Attendant Murders’
UK indie Flicker Productions is working on docuseries The Flight Attendant Murders, in partnership with financier and distributor BossaNova Media, following the latter company’s Development Day last year.
The 4 x 60-minute series explores the murders of four flight attendants in the 1970s and 1980s in Texas. The pitch for the series was one of the winning offerings at BossaNova’s Development Day in January 2022, with the series now going into production.
Produced and directed by Jasleen Kaur Sethi, the series reassesses the evidence available and traces the timeline of each case to ask if they are individual crimes or could potentially be linked. The show is executive produced for Flicker Productions by Colleen Flynn and Charlotte Nicholls and Paul Heaney for BossaNova Media. The series producer is Karen Hoy.
BossaNova Media has also teamed with picture archive firm Getty Images, which will be the first sponsorship partner to help deliver new plans for a separate in-person only strategy for the next Development Day programme. The company plans to split future Development Days into separate strands to accommodate both live and virtual events, with the first live session to be held in Central London in October.
Claire Runham, who joined the company in March as its new head of acquisitions said: “The Flight Attendant Murders is another excellent example of our precise curating on what buyers tell us they want to be pitched and then using this data to get these shows into production. The new Development Days are evolving each time and we hope to provide buyers on their way to MIPCOM with the perfect pitch.”
