HBO sets next project with ‘Mare Of Easttown’ creator Brad Ingelsby
HBO has ordered a limited crime drama series from Mare Of Easttown creator Brad Ingelsby, with Mark Ruffalo attached to star end executive produce.
Untitled Brad Ingelsby Task Force Project (working title) is based on an original idea and follows a task force of law enforcement officers and the criminals they are trying to apprehend.
Ingelsby, who previously teamed with HBO on the critically acclaimed Kate Winslet-led 2021 crime drama miniseries Mare Of Easttown, will write and exec produce, alongside Jeremiah Zagar (We The Animals) as director and executive producer.
The project comes via Ingelsby’s overall deal with HBO and will be produced in association with Wiip, with Paul Lee and Mark Roybal exec producing for the firm, while Nicole Jordan-Webber and Public Record’s Jeremy Yaches will serve as co-executive producers.
Ruffalo, star of HBO’s I Know This Much Is True, Spotlight and Poor Things, as well as numerous Marvel superhero movies as the Hulk (aka Bruce Banner), has been cast in the lead role of Tom. However, HBO said that casting decisions were made prior to the WGA strike, and no further development has occurred since the strike began. The series has not yet been slated for production.
Francesca Orsi, EVP of programming & head of HBO drama series and films, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to once again join forces with Brad Ingelsby, the brilliant auteur behind Mare Of Easttown. Brad’s boundless creativity and unrivaled ability to captivate audiences is nothing short of inspiring, and we cannot be more excited to embark on another journey together.”
