PBS brings UK drama ‘Marriage’ to North America
PBS Distribution has picked up UK drama Marriage to stream in North America on PBS Passport and the PBS Masterpiece Prime Video channel.
Distributor All3Media International has also struck deals for the show in Europe, with Telekom-owned streaming platform Magenta TV securing SVOD rights in Germany, YLE in Finland, Canal+ in Austria, DR in Denmark, SVT in Sweden and Filmin in Spain.
Originally produced by The Forge and The Money Men for BBC One in the UK, the four-part series is written and directed by Stefan Golaszewski. It stars Sean Bean and Nicola Walker and explores a close-up portrait of a 30-year marriage as a couple deals with the insecurities, the ambiguities, the hopes and the fears that are part of all long-term relationships.
Sally Habbershaw, EVP Americas at All3Media International, said, “Stefan Golaszewski’s intricately observed scripts are brought to life with depth, humour and honesty by two of our highest calibre actors, all in the hands of The Forge and The Money Men, experts in globally appealing drama.
“Exploring universal themes, Marriage is a warm yet not sentimental celebration of both the hardship and the wonder of long-term love that will resonate with audiences no matter where they are in the world – as proven by this fantastic roster of deals.”
