Prince Andrew: Banished

Blue Ant strikes Lat Am deals

Latin American platforms including DirecTV and A+E Networks have acquired a range of unscripted titles after striking deals with distributor Blue Ant International at LA Screenings last week.

Pay-TV service DIRECTV Latin America and the streaming platform DGO, in Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Uruguay and Mexico, bought Prince Andrew: Banished (1 x 90-minute) which unpacks the tumultuous story of Prince Andrew, Duke of York; and Cheating Hitler (1 x 90-minute/2 x 60-minutes) which follows three Holocaust survivors with unanswered questions from their pasts as they journey back to hometowns, killing sites, and hiding places in search of clues.

A+E Networks Latin America acquired rights to both seasons of Strangest Things (20 x 60-films), while Globo licensed exclusive pay-TV and SVOD rights for Brazil for Prince Andrew: Banished and renewed Queen Of the World (2 x 60-minutes).

Other deals included with AMC Selekt 4K, for a range of science and wildlife programming to air in Mexico, South America and Central America, including Into the Blue: The Wonders of the Coral Triangle (8 x 60-minues) and Arabian Inferno (5 x 60-minutes), while Teledoce in Uruguay purchased seasons one and two of World’s Deadliest Weather (65 x 60-minutes).

Super Happy Magic Forest

ABC & ZDF explore ‘Super Happy Magic Forest’

ABC in Australia and ZDF & ZDF Studios in Germany have struck pre-sale deals with Zodiak Kids & Family Distribution for upcoming animation Super Happy Magic Forest

Produced by Tiger Aspect Kids & Family, with Movimenti Production (both Banijay Kids & Family companies, along with Zodiak Kids & Family Distribution), these sales follow the announcement of the project earlier this year, with broadcast partners BBC and Rai Kids, and pre-sale with Canal+, already confirmed.

Super Happy Magic Forest is a 52 x 11-minute comedy quest adventure featuring five heroes, brought together by their mutual love of questing, picnics, and frolicking. Led by the outgoing and courageous faun, Hoofius, they battle villains, share journeys, and have a jolly good time along the way as they learn how to be true heroes and how to quest sensibly.

The series is based on the popular picture books of the same name by Matty Long, which were first published by Oxford University Press in 2015.
