Warner Bros. Discovery’s Latin America & US Hispanic entertainment chief Tomás Yankelevich is to leave the company at the end of next month.

Yankelevich, a Telefe veteran who joined Warner Media prior to the merger with Discovery, had most recently been EVP & chief content officer for entertainment at WBD across Latin America and US Hispanic.

A replacement has not yet been named but WBD said Yankelevich would be pursuing a “new professional path”.

Yankelevich’s remit extended to all brands in Latin America, including streamers HBO Max and Discovery+, as well as pay TV networks such as TNT, Warner Channel, Discovery Channel and HBO.

He had overseen a raft of programming initially destined for HBO Max in Lat Am, prior to the decision to rebrand the streamer Max.

Fernando Medin, president of WBD in Latin America and US Hispanic, said the exec had “successfully led our content and production teams to this point and… formed a [dependable] group of professionals.”

Yankelevich added: “It was a privilege to have had the opportunity to lead this team over the last six years, accompanied by great professionals with whom we share a passion for what we do: thrill the audience with our stories.

“It is time to close this cycle and chart a new stage in my career. I do so with the satisfaction of having achieved our objectives and, especially, having achieved it with a team that stands out for its commitment.”
