Sky kicks off Burnley FC docuseries from ‘QPR: The Four-Year Plan’ prodco Ad Hoc

Sky in the UK has revealed a four-part docuseries tracking the fortunes of football club Burnley, which recently secured promotion to the Premier League.

Mission To Burnley is from UK indie Ad Hoc Films, which was previously behind fellow football docs QPR: The Four-Year Plan and The United Way.

It will debut on Sky Documentaries and streamer Now in September and tracks Burnley Football Club owners, ALK Partners, as they seek to navigate the snakes-and-ladders world of modern football.

The show will feature “unprecedented access” to the boardroom, dressing-room and inner workings of the club, Sky said.

From one the biggest lows in club football, to one of the greatest highs, we’ve been privileged to follow the club throughout. With lead characters Alan Pace and Vincent Kompany, we can’t wait to bring our audiences this remarkable story from the inside.”

The show has been commissioned by Bennett, Jamie Morris, director of programmes and Jack Oliver, head of co-productions at Sky Entertainment.

The Ad Hoc Films team includes series director Tom Magnus, showrunner Mat Hodgson, producer Daniel Glynn, series producer Patrick Nathanson and producer Nina Cameron.
