Australia’s Seven gets ‘Stranded On Honeymoon Island’ with Endemol Shine

Seven Network in Australia has ordered a local version of recently launched format, Stranded On Honeymoon Island.

The adventure dating format will be produced by Banijay-owned Endemol Shine Australia and sees couples matched by experts before being marooned on a deserted island and left to fend for themselves for three weeks.

The format was first commissioned by Belgium’s VTM and is sold by Red Arrow Studios International, havign been created by Snowman Productions.

The Copenhagen-based production company – part of Seven.One Studios and a sister company to Red Arrow Studios International – will set up and manage a production hub in southeast Asia to facilitate the year-round filming of new local versions.

Tim Gerhartz, President & Managing Director at Red Arrow Studios International, said: “The format brings together two reality subgenres – dating and adventure – to create a truly unique, fast-track relationship experience and we are looking forward to seeing it roll out around the world.”

Angus Ross, Seven’s chief content officer for entertainment programming, added that the show would “blend fledgling love with the adventure of a lifetime.”
