Sister & France’s Satisfaction invest in Richard Bacon’s new format firm Yes Yes Media

UK producer Sister has invested in Yes Yes Media, the nascent production firm from former UK television host Richard Bacon.

The deal will see Yes Yes Media working with Sister’s network around the world to create new IP and develop tech that allows viewers to interact with formats.

As part of that move, the firm has hired LA-based tech creatives Geoff Abbott and Reed Seerman.

The prodco, which will be based in London and LA, is also receiving investment from a raft of celebs, ranging from Friends star Courteney Cox to musician Johnny McDaid.

French producer Satisfaction has also invested in the company and struck a format development partnership with the firm.

Bacon, who has previously created formats including The Hustler and This Is My House, said: “We’re now truly in the TikTok era, but traditional television entertainment hasn’t fully tapped into that in a way that feels native.

“I see all screens as television now. At Yes Yes, we’re developing content that naturally and authentically meets audiences on any of their devices. We’re writing talent and gameshows, collaborating with a video gaming company, and creating formats that we’ll live stream directly to viewers ourselves, with everyone watching changing the story.”

Elisabeth Murdoch, Sister’s co-founder & executive chair, added: “Sister was built to support the best creative talent regardless of genre or medium, and Richard’s vision to combine technology and storytelling is a perfect fit.

“He is a bold, creative entrepreneur, who is full of ideas and truly thinks differently and I’m delighted to bring his creativity, industry experience and commercial ambition into the Sister fold.”

Bacon added that the partnership with Satisfaction “will allow us to grow quickly, by collaborating to create new and exciting television formats for global buyers.”
