C5 & Paramount+ doubles down on Red Sauce’s ‘Bargain Loving Brits’, sets Zinc Media record

Channel 5 and Paramount+ in the UK has ordered more than 130-hours of programming from Red Sauce, marking the largest-ever commission for a company within Zinc Media Group.

The multi-series deal will see Red Sauce producing Bargain Loving Brits (aka BLB) for C5 over the next two years, building on previous commissions of 50+ hours in both 2022 and 2021.

The new package consists of a 120 x 60-minute daytime version of Bargain Loving Brits In The Sun, alongside a 16 x 60-minute version of the primetime version. Both shows chart the lives of Brits who have swapped the UK for a new life in Spain.

Tom Edwards, Red Sauce’s creative director, said: “This huge order allows us to creatively refresh our approach to the series and to identify and nurture production talent over a much longer term than ever before – of benefit to them, us and the wider industry.”

Both series have been commissioned by Denise Seneviratne, commissioning editor for factual at C5 & Paramount+.
