‘Dark Woods’ prodco Bavaria Fiction hires X Filme producer Maximiliane Prokop

Dark Woods producer Bavaria Fiction has landed Maximiliane Prokop as an executive producer, based out of Berlin.

Prokop most recently worked as a producer at X Filme Creative Pool on ZDF series Doktor Ballouz and Furia.

Before that, she was a junior producer at Constantin Film and exec produced coming-of-age short film Jenny.

She reports to Marcus Ammon, Bavaria Fiction’s MD of content, and starts 1 April.

Ammon said: “Thanks to her wide experience in TV and film, Maximiliane is a great addition to our team of executive producers. We have known Maximiliane since her student days and came to appreciate her energy and creativity in her various tasks. Since then, we have followed her career with great interest.”

Prokop added: “My goal is to produce bold, authentic entertainment that sensitively reflects our current times. I am particularly interested in developing and executing projects with a cross-media approach.”

Bavaria Ficiton has been ramping up its team over recent months, hiring Jonas Baur from ITV Studios in September to work across the development and production of serial formats.

The company has also moved further into comedy after striking a pact with fellow German outfit Gerda Film.
