ITV Studios America, the US scripted arm of ITV Studios, has optioned the adaptation rights to three romantic-comedy novels from Canadian author Roselle Lim.

The books, including Natalie Tan’s Book Of Luck And FortuneVanessa Yu’s Magical Paris Tea Shop and Sophie Go’s Lonely Hearts Club explore the Chinese-American experience through stories of romance, complex family relationships, and coming into one’s own.

The novels were optioned through ITV Studios America’s development deal with Laurie Zaks (Castle, The Fix) and her newly established Rosewood Television, which she formed after leaving her seven-year position running TV for Disney-based Mandeville Films.

Author Lim will serve as executive producer alongside Laurie Zaks through Rosewood Television.

“Roselle’s books are a complete delight for the heart and for the senses. They are full of romance, magic, humor, and human connection – the perfect antidote for these crazy times. We can’t wait to bring these characters to life,” said Lucienne Papon, EVP of creative affairs, ITV Studios America.
