Embankment Films ramps up unscripted with triple hire, incl ‘Killing Escobar’s Nick Taussig

UK-based Embankment Films is ramping up its unscripted division by hiring three new execs, including Killing Escobar producer Nick Taussig and Malcolm Neaum (Savile Row).

Embankment is known as the producer behind films such as Emily, The Miracle Club and Purple Hearts for Netflix, but it is now looking to double down on the recent addition of producer Kevin Loader (Elizabeth – A Portrait In Part(s)).

Taussig and Neaum will be tasked with producing varied unscripted series formats, including returnable series, and arejoined by Sophie Harmer, who, with Taussig, recently produced Call Me Kate.

Senior researcher Henry Farrington is also joining the trio, all with immediate effect.

Embankment founders Tim Haslam and Hugo Grumbar, said the additions would enable the company to “increase its offering” to the market, while focusing on its “mission… to enable audience-facing storytellers to produce surprising and emotive entertainment.”

Taussig added: “We are joining a dynamic and experienced team with a proven record for providing filmmakers a dependable and consistent premium infrastructure to greenlight production through to worldwide distribution.”

Embankments has produced more than 50 scripted features, such as The Father with Anthony Hopkins, Florian Zeller and Christopher Hampton, while it has also been behind five docs, including Born Wild.
