Apple TV+ enters ‘The Last Frontier’ with Jon Bokenkamp & Richard D’Ovidio

Jason Clarke

Apple TV+ has greenlit an Alaska-based drama from The Blacklist‘s Jon Bokenkamp and The Call‘s Richard D’Ovidio.

The Last Frontier is from the tech giant’s Apple Studios and will star Jason Clarke (Zero Dark Thirty), who also exec produces alongside Sam Hargrave.

The 10-episode drama follows Clarke’s character, US Marshal Frank Remnick, whose quiet, rugged barrens of Alaska are turned upside-down when a prison transport plane crashes in the remote wilderness, setting free dozens of violent inmates.

Tasked with protecting the town he’s vowed to keep safe, he begins to suspect the crash wasn’t an accident, but the first step of a well-crafted plan with international political implications.

Apple Studios’ upcoming output includes City On Fire, from Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, which will debut 12 May 12. The streamer’s output also includes Masters Of The Air, from Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Television and Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman’s Playtone.
