Nat Geo boards Mayan doc
National Geographic, ZDFinfo and TV5 Quebec have boarded Pernel Media’s documentary series Rise and Fall of the Mayas.
They will broadcast the 4 x 60-minute series worldwide apart from in the US, German-speaking Europe and French Canada respectively.
Originally commissioned by RMC Decouverte and pre-bought by Histoire TV for the French market, the series features access to a groundbreaking expedition at Aguada Fenix, the oldest and largest Mayan site found to date.
Executive producers for Pernel Media are Céline Payot Lehmann and Samuel Kissous.
“Telling the story of a great civilization from beginning to end is a rare privilege that we managed by securing exclusives on ground breaking archeological findings. That is what convinced our partners to come on board” Lehmann, international executive producer at Pernel Media.
NBC orders ‘Non-Evil Twin’ pilot
NBC has ordered a pilot for multi-camera comedy Non-Evil Twin.
The series, produced by Straight To Cards, stars Amber Ruffin, who also writes and exec produces alongside Kenny Smith.
It follows a woman who is forced to step in to her sister’s role as the leader of a Fortune 500 company despite knowing little about business and even less about the way her sister has been running the corporation.
