Cineflix Productions ups ‘I Was Lorena Bobbitt’ exec to VP of scripted
Cineflix Productions has promoted Jeff Vanderwal to VP of scripted.
In his expanded role, Vanderwal will source, develop, and oversee the production of scripted series and movies for the division.
Based in Toronto, Vanderwal reports to JC Mills, president and head of content for Cineflix Productions.
Since joining the Cineflix Productions scripted team in 2018, Vanderwal has developed and produced projects including the films I Was Lorena Bobbitt and Believe Me: The Abduction of Lisa McVey, along with crime thrillers Stolen by Their Father and Left for Dead: The Ashley Reeves Story.
He is currently developing a crime series based on the Wakeland novels by Vancouver author Sam Wiebe, as well as another soon-to-be-announced scripted series, according to Cineflix.
“Jeff has been instrumental in building Cineflix Productions’ scripted division with a strong slate of gripping true crime thrillers, modern holiday classics, and compelling series. He’s great with talent, spot-on with story, and delivers high production values necessary to capture an audience. We’re thrilled to recognise his success with this promotion,” said Mills.
