Wheelhouse taps Possessed TV MD to lead new UK arm

Wheelhouse, the LA-based firm set up by CEO Brent Montgomery and Jimmy Kimmel, has launched Wheelhouse UK, a London-headquartered production arm.

The new outpost will be led by Deal Or No Deal producer Glenn Hugill, the founder and MD of ITV Studio’s Possessed TV, who will serve as president at the new firm,

Hugill has also been appointed as chief creative officer for Wheelhouse Entertainment, working closely with chief creative officer Scott Lonker and programming EVP Will Nothacker, across Wheelhouse’s US production entities, Spoke Studios, Kimmelot, Butternut, Campfire Studios and Portal A.

Joining Hugill at Wheelhouse UK will be former Possessed TV colleagues Nick Mather, who becomes creative director; Matt Floyd, who serves as head of development; and Jack Borgeat as development producer.

Wheelhouse UK has also struck a muti-year production and distribution agreement with ITV Studios, which will see all series developed by Hugill and commissioned in the UK produced by ITV Studios-housed labels. Director of unscripted in the UK, Angela Jain, will run point on UK-based creative services and production management.

Shows currently co-produced by Possessed and ITV Studios, such as Sitting On A Fortune and Unbeatable, will now be produced by ITV Studios’ relevant production labels – specifically Potato and 12 Yard, respectively, for the above-referenced series.

ITV Studios is understood to be reviewing what comes next for Possessed.
