ITV revives ‘Deal Or No Deal’

ITV is reviving quiz show format Deal Or No Deal after a seven year hiatus from UK screens.

Banijay UK label Remarkable will produce the new series for the British comcaster, which follows a pilot for the returned show presented by Stephen Mulhern last year.

Deal Or No Deal originally ran for 13 seasons on Channel 4 in the UK from 2005 to 2016, hosted by Noel Edmonds, before it was cancelled.

The format sees contestants attempt to win cash prizes by opening boxes containing differing amounts of money. They must test their luck as they decide whether to accept an offer from ‘the Banker’ in exchange for an unknown sum that could be contained within their own box.

The story was first reported by UK tabloid The Daily Mirror.
