Marblemedia promotes exec to newly created head of rights role
Canadian producer and distributor Marblemedia has promoted Diane Rankin to the newly created position of EVP, rights, and executive producer.
Rankin will lead the content commercialization strategy for the company to support and accelerate growth across the scripted, unscripted, kids and family genres. She will be tasked with establishing more commercial partnerships, pre-sales and co-production opportunities, while continuing to grow Marblemedia’s sister distribution firm Distribution360 (D360).
Joining the company in 2015, Rankin most recently served as SVP of rights & executive producer. During her tenure, she has worked across all content divisions; scripted, unscripted, kids & family, and third-party acquisitions.
She was responsible for all aspects of sales, rights management, digital programming and distribution strategy, including oversight as an executive producer on unscripted series. Rankin will continue to report to co-Founders and co-CEOs, Mark Bishop and Matt Hornburg.
Prior to Marblemedia, Rankin held senior leadership positions at DRG, Cineflix Rights and Brunico Communications.
Marblemedia’s credits include titles such as Blown Away and Drink Masters for Netflix, All Round Champion for TVO and BYUtv and Overlord and the Underwoods for CBC, Nickelodeon, BYUtv and Hulu.
“Diane has an incredible track record for developing and managing our strong and diverse slate of titles, while driving new exciting partners to our projects. The evidence of our success is in the work Diane has done with regards to delivering new financing opportunities for our content”, said co-CEO, Mark Bishop.
