Nordic’s Monday Media names new CEO & chief creative officer

Martin Dalgaard

Nordic production group Monday Media has appointed Martin Dalgaard as its new group CEO, with former TV2 Denmark programme director Palle Strøm named as chief creative officer.

Dalgaard, who was most recently COO for Monday Group and MD for Monday Denmark, replaces fellow founder Morten Bank, who continues as chairman of the board.

Strøm spent several years at TV2 and was most recently head of development for Monday in Denmark, while Nicolai Bo Hjeds has been named MD of Monday Production, stepping up from exec producer & head of production.

Monday Media is home to 10 local scripted and unscripted prodcos, including: Feelgood, Teddy, Monday Production, Monday Sport and Monday Scripted in Norway; Monday Production, Koncern and Monday Scripted in Denmark; and Monday Media NL.

It also operates Feelgood Istage, a production house for live comedy and management, based out of Norway.

The rejig will see Bank focus on expansion of the group through M&A, while the new team is focusing on growth through IP-creation.

Dalgaard said: “We have an amazing amount of creative talent in the various labels and we can see that the cross-border synergies are starting to pick up. Our new formats become bigger and stronger when the creatives join forces.

“Palle has been very successful in creating formats out of Monday Denmark with shows like Next Design Icon, Five Senses and a recently commissioned big fashion show. With Palle in charge we will see the group IP-creation reach a new level,” added Dalgaard.
