Swedish format ‘Trash Or Treasure’ lands second Spanish regional remake
Spanish regional broadcaster À Punt has become the seventh company to order a local version of Swedish format Trash Or Treasure.
The entertainment gameshow, to be known locally as Tresor O Trasto, is being produced for the Valencian broadcaster by Banijay’s Cuarzo Producciones.
Its commissioning comes after the October launch of the format in Spain on fellow regional network, Aragón TV.
The studio-based show requires contestants to value a host of different objects and identify the hidden treasure worth €10,000 ($10,500).
The format was originally created by Banijay’s Mastiff TV for TV4 in Sweden and it has since sold into Germany, the Netherlands, Italy and Sweden.
Juan Ramón Gonzalo, CEO of Cuarzo Producciones, said: “Trash Or Treasure is a unique format, which captivates audiences who can’t help but play along. It was an absolute pleasure to bring the format to Spain last year, and we are extremely excited to build on its success with a new regional version for À Punt.”
