Lifetime recruits History exec to co-head unscripted content
History exec Amy Savitsky is moving to fellow A&E Networks brand Lifetime to co-head unscripted programming.
Previously serving as SVP of development and programming for History, Savitsky will now be SVP of unscripted development and programming for Lifetime.
She will report to Lifetime’s EVP and head of programming, Amy Winter, and work alongside Brie Amanda Bryant, who shares the same job title as SVP of unscripted development and programming.
In her new role, Savitsky will look after Lifetime’s unscripted content, sharing the responsibility for the management of the programming and development team with Bryant, who will continue to oversee event docuseries and specials such as Surviving R. Kelly and Janet Jackson.
Savitsky joined History in 2019, working on series including The Proof Is Out There and The Bermuda Triangle: Into Cursed Waters. Prior to that she was at A&E, and worked on titles such as Leah Remini: Scientology And The Aftermath and Kids Behind Bars: Life Or Parole.
“Having worked with Amy prior, we already have a shorthand and I know she can hit the ground running,” said Winter. “Amy is one of the most creative executives I’ve ever had the pleasure to work with and I’m thrilled that she is joining the Lifetime team to help lead unscripted alongside Brie.”
Savirsky added that she is “excited to jump back into female-centric content on such an established women’s brand.”
