Fremantle entertainment chief Rob Clark to retire in 2023
Fremantle’s long-standing format chief Rob Clark is to retire, after almost two decades with the company.
Clark, who is director of global entertainment at the RTL Group-owned producer-distributor, will step down in 2023 having worked on the global roll-out of globe-trotting shows such as Got Talent and Idol.
He landed at the company in 2004, initially working as SVP of production, before becoming president of worldwide entertainment two years later.
Clark then took charge of shows such as The X Factor and led format development after being upped to become president of global entertainment development in 2012.
Fremantle CEO, Jennifer Mullin, said: “For the past 20 years, Rob has been one of the key architects of our vast and successful Global Entertainment business.
“When we talk about connecting creativity at Fremantle, Rob embodies that. I will personally miss working with him and know all of us wish him well in his retirement.”
A replacement has not yet been named following the news, which was broken by US trade Deadline.
