Showtime switches on Lightbox for Phil Spector docuseries

Spector

US network Showtime has commissioned a four-part documentary series about music producer Phil Spector and the murder of actress Lana Clarkson.

The series, which will be released on demand and on streaming platforms for Showtime subscribers on 4 November, explores the film star’s fatal shooting at Spector’s LA mansion, just hours after they first met. It aims to peel back the layers of what happened that night to tell the stories of both Clarkson and the man who was convicted of her murder.

Produced by Lightbox, in association with Sky Documentaries, the docuseries is directed by Sheena M. Joyce and Don Argott. Serving as executive producers are Jonathan Chinn, Simon Chinn, James Marsh and Stephen Neely, together with Poppy Dixon and Jack Oliver for Sky. Fifth Season is handling distribution rights outside of the UK and US.
