E4 gives UK home to Young Sheldon
Young Sheldon, The Big Bang Theory prequel that follows the life of nine-year-old Sheldon Cooper, will arrive on UK channel E4 next year.
E4 has had success with The Big Bang Theory in recent years, with series 10 attracting an average audience of 2.4 million viewers an episode and a 9.5% share of viewing audience – more than double the channel’s slot average.
This performance makes it E4’s biggest show of the year for all individuals, as well as E4’s key demographic of 16-34 year olds.
Young Sheldon stars Iain Armitage (Big Little Lies), Zoe Perry (Scandal), Lance Barber (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia), Annie Potts (Love & War) Montana Jordan and Raegan Revord (Modern Family). Jim Parsons (The Big Bang Theory) narrates as adult Sheldon.
The 13x30mins series is created by Chuck Lorre and Steven Molaro. Executive producers are Lorre, Molaro, Jim Parsons and Todd Spiewak. The first episode was directed and executive produced by Jon Favreau.
