Kwesé adds AMC and Scripps nets

New African pay TV platform Kwesé TV has struck deals with AMC Networks and Scripps Networks Interactive to boost its growing content line-up.

Fear the Walking Dead 208_2Econet Media-owned Kwesé TV has struck a deal with AMC to provide a version of the AMC Channel on the platform bringing shows such as Fear the Walking Dead (pictured), Breaking Bad, Into the Badlands and The Night Manager to its viewers.

According to Kwesé, the AMC Channel has been specially curated for its audience across the continent.

Kwesé has also struck a deal with Scripps Networks Interactive to add Travel Channel and Fine Living to its offering. The channels will bring content including Durban Beach Rescue, Ultimate Braai Master and House Hunters Africa to Kwesé subscribers.

Kwesé TV’s pay TV offering is available in Ghana, Rwanda and Zambia, with plans to roll out to other territories across the continent. In addition to a raft of pay TV services, including channels from companies as disparate as Zee Entertainment and Vice Media, the platform offers access to Kwesé Free Sports, the free-to-air sports channel that airs content including English Premier League football and NBA basketball.
